Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has provided relief to its users in India by reducing subscription fees by up to 48%. This reduction applies to all account types—Basic, Premium, and Premium Plus. The monthly fee for a Premium account on mobile was previously Rs 900, now reduced to Rs 470, a cut of about 48%. This reduction was implemented despite the additional charges imposed by app stores.

Simultaneously, the price of the Premium Plus subscription has been lowered from Rs 5,100 to Rs 3,000 on mobile, a reduction of approximately 41%. Premium subscriptions on the web are now available for Rs 427, down from Rs 650, representing a 34% decrease. The Premium Plus account on the web now costs Rs 2,570 instead of Rs 3,470, a reduction of 26%.

The Basic subscription has also been reduced from Rs 243.75 to Rs 170 per month, saving about 30%. The annual plan for the Basic account, previously Rs 2,590.48, is now offered at Rs 1,700, a 34% reduction. Basic users gain features such as post editing, writing long posts, background video playback, and video downloads.
