Instagram has announced many new features for DMs. With this, now users will be able to translate messages in different languages in chats and schedule messages. Instagram on Wednesday introduced Direct Message (DM) updates. With the updates, the user will also have the functionality to translate other language messages in 1: 1 chats, the user can also schedule the message now and also share music easily with others without exiting the message window. The user could earlier pin a maximum of three chats to the DM inbox at the top, the user can also pin specific chats on the immediate messaging platform now.
Instagram has detailed the coming DM features in a blog post. Instagram is also launching a message translation feature. The title of the feature is descriptive of the functionality of the feature itself, enabling the user to translate incoming messages they are receiving within DM to their native language. The feature is launching with support for 99 languages. Messages to be translated will be shared with Meta by the company.
Another new feature is message scheduling. Similar to the capability recently introduced on iPhones after the iOS 18 update, Instagram is now allowing users to schedule messages. Apart from this, they can also schedule reminders. To do this, one just has to hold the send button, select the date and time for scheduling, and tap on send.
