AI: Pope Leo 14th said that artificial intelligence presents new and serious challenges to the protection of human dignity, justice, and labor. He called it a central issue for humanity, which the church and society should consider deeply together.
Pope Leo 14th on Saturday set out his vision for the papacy and said that artificial intelligence (AI) is among the gravest threats humanity is facing. During his first official meeting, Pope Leo set out that he would take up the path of modernization and reforms initiated by Pope Francis. According to him, his priority is making the Catholic Church a welcoming, empathetic, and voice-lifting body for the marginalized.
He repeatedly referred to Pope Francis and said that he is committed to fully adopting the decisions and objectives of the Second Vatican Council (meetings in the 1960s that brought about extensive reforms in the church).
