Amid the ongoing military tension between India and Pakistan, clouds of crisis have started looming over the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as well. The match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), being played in Dharamsala on Thursday night, was canceled due to security reasons.

At 9:29 pm, the floodlights of the ground were suddenly turned off. Shortly after, the players and spectators were instructed to vacate the stadium. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal himself was seen signaling the spectators to go out on the boundary line. The seriousness of the situation can be gauged from the fact that some players returned to the team hotel wearing pads.

According to a report in The Indian Express, a player said, "We were informed about the attacks in Pathankot. We were asked to return to the hotel immediately. There was some panic there. Delhi Capitals players were sitting in the Punjab team bus, and Punjab team players were also sitting in the same bus. We wanted to go out, but it was very crowded. Foreign players were worried; many of them wanted to return home."
