Renault to Launch 7 New Cars in India, Targets ₹10 Lakh Segment with New Platform
Renault has announced plans to launch 7 new cars in India, using two new platforms-RGEP for budget cars under ₹10 lakh and RGMP for premium models. The move aims to strengthen its position against rivals like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Upcoming models will include updated versions of Renault Kwid, Renault Triber, and Renault Kiger, along with new hybrid, CNG, flex-fuel, and electric vehicles. The RGMP platform will also support advanced SUVs, including future versions of the Renault Duster.

Renault India has announced the launch of 7 new cars in India. The two new platforms, namely, RGEP and RGMP, will be used by the company to manufacture these vehicles. While RGEP will be used to manufacture vehicles that fall below the price tag of ₹10 lakh.
Renault wants to make itself more dominant in this budget market segment. Currently, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai rule the roost for all vehicles under ₹10 lakh. Renault seems to be gearing up to challenge them.
Already, Renault has been successful in manufacturing vehicles like the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. Now, it will try to upgrade these models using the RGEP platform. It can be helpful for Renault to produce different types of vehicles from this platform.
