Sheveluch volcano has erupted due to an earthquake of 7 Richter scale magnitude in Russia. Due to the volcanic eruption, a large amount of ash has come out of the volcano, due to which the entire area of eight kilometers has been covered with ash. A large amount of lava has also come out of the volcano. However, there is no news of any casualties due to this.
Sheveluch volcano is located 280 miles away from the coastal city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia. The total population of this city is about 1,81,000. According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 55 miles away from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and at a depth of 30 miles. There is no news of any major damage due to the earthquake so far. However, many buildings have been damaged. Due to the earthquake, the US Tsunami Warning System has issued a tsunami warning near the coast of Russia.
