Scorching North India will get relief from today: mercury will drop up to 5 degrees

North India, which has been suffering from the scorching heat for the last two days, can get relief from today. Western Disturbance is going to knock here from Tuesday. It will also get strength from the moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of thunderstorms, hailstorms,s, and rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and UP for the next four days.
On Wednesday-Thursday, the normal day temperature in North India will decrease by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. In Bihar, West Bengal, there will be strong winds with thunder and lightning on Monday. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra will also receive rain with thunderstorms and strong winds on May 24 and 25.
In Uttarakhand on May 24-25, there will be a thunderstorm with a speed of 50-60 kmph and rain with thunder. On May 24, similar weather will prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Chandigarh.
After reaching the southern part of the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, the monsoon has been stuck there for three days. On Friday, the monsoon crossed Indira Point, the last limit of Andaman in the Bay of Bengal, and reached Nancowri Island. Monsoon normally reaches Port Blair on 21st May. The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon winds are weak, but it is likely to move slowly within the next two days.
Due to the heat, the power demand in Delhi had increased to 6,532 MW by around 3.30 pm on Monday. It was 6,011 MW till 11.30 pm on Sunday night.
According to IMD, a Western Disturbance is active over the Western Himalayan region, and an active Western Disturbance is going to knock over North India from Tuesday. This disturbance will also get strength from the moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea. Due to this, the whole of North India is likely to get relief from the scorching heat that has been going on for the last two days.
There is a possibility of heavy rains in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh on 23-24 May. Heavy rains are also expected in Punjab on May 24. Hailstorm is also expected in Himachal Pradesh on the 23rd. Thunderstorms with a speed of 50-60 kmph will blow in Uttarakhand on May 24-25. On May 24, similar weather will prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Chandigarh. On May 24, there are chances of hailstorms in some parts of Haryana, North Rajasthan on May 24-25.
In Bihar and West Bengal, on May 23, there will be strong winds with thunder and lightning. On May 24 and 25, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm along with thunderstorms and strong winds in the areas of the Vidarbha region of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra. Only some areas of Jharkhand are likely to experience a heatwave on Tuesday, besides Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Marathwada region of Maharashtra will witness scorching heat with humidity.
