Rupee is trading with slight rise against dollar, Indian currency opened at this level today

Today, the rupee opened with a slight rise against the dollar in early trade. Today the rupee rose by 1 paise to reach 83.36 compared to its previous close.

In the foreign exchange market today, the rupee opened at 83.36 against the dollar and touched an intra-day peak of 83.35. On Monday, the rupee had closed at the level of 83.37.

Gaurang Somaiya, forex and bullion analyst at Motilal Oswal Financial Services, told PTI, "Yesterday, the dollar also traded with low volatility against its key crosses as market participants remain cautious ahead of the important FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) policy statement which is due to be released later this week."

In early trade today, the dollar index, which gauges the strength of the dollar against the other six currencies, rose by 0.11 per cent and closed at 103.58. Apart from this, today crude futures are trading at $ 76.24 per barrel with a gain of 0.28 per cent.

Till the time of writing the news, the Sensex rose 77.50 points or 0.11 per cent and closed at the level of 70,006.03. Nifty is trading at 21,029.95 points with a gain of 32.85 points. On Monday, foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 1,261.13 crore from the market.
