In the Ranji Trophy match being played in New Delhi, Delhi resumed their innings on the second day after losing six wickets for 248 runs. Still, the remaining batsmen failed to contribute significantly. The team lost its last four wickets for just 46 runs.

However, Sumit Mathur batted brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 71 to help the team reach a respectable total. After a poor performance by Delhi's batsmen on the second day, expectations were high from the bowlers, but they too failed to make an impact.

The Puducherry team, which was initially considered weak, played a composed innings and sent the Delhi bowling into pieces. A 91-run partnership between Santosh and Ajay, followed by a 93-run partnership between Ajay and Anand, turned the match in Puducherry's favor. Ajay Rohra, who scored a brilliant century, is holding firm at the crease.

Simranjeet took two wickets for Delhi. Puducherry has scored 240 for four and is now only 54 runs behind Delhi. Opener Shikhar Mohan's brilliant double century helped Jharkhand gain a strong position by scoring 510 for eight against Nagaland on the second day of the Elite Group A Ranji Trophy match.

Resuming play at 91/2, batsman Shikhar made the most of his opportunity and played a brilliant innings of 207 runs, studded with 21 fours and three sixes.

Captain Virat Singh (105) also played a captaincy innings. By the end of the day's play, Nagaland had scored 37 runs without loss in 17 overs.

Thanks to double centuries from veteran batsmen Karun Nair (233 runs) and Ravichandran Smaraman (220 runs not out), Karnataka declared their first innings at 586 for five against Kerala on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match on Sunday.

Karnataka's fast bowlers Vidwath Kaverappa and V Vijay Kumar's excellent bowling with the new ball helped Kerala reach 21 for three at stumps. The hosts trailed by 565 runs. Karun and Smaraman shared a massive 343-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Meanwhile, in another match in Indore, Madhya Pradesh reached 384 for eight in their first innings against Chandigarh at stumps, thanks to a century from Harpreet Singh Bhatia (116) and a half-century from Venkatesh Iyer (65). Jagjit Singh Sandhu took five wickets for 69 runs for Chandigarh.
