Both Sanju Samson and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad started the match, but both got out for 6 runs. Samson got out to Nandre Burger, and Gaikwad got out from the hand of Jofra Archer.
Ayush Mhatre then failed to open his account and was dismissed by Burger. Matthew Short was then dismissed by Sandeep Sharma. Sarfaraz Khan and Kartik Sharma combined to take the team past 50, but Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed at 51. Sarfaraz Khan scored 17 runs off 12 balls, while Kartik Sharma made 18.
