Rajasthan is facing severe heat, mercury crossed 47 in Pilani, red alert of heatwave issued
Rajasthan Weather Update: Wednesday was the hottest day of the season in the state. Many districts of Rajasthan, including Ganganagar, were the hottest areas in the country. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 47.6 degrees Celsius in Ganganagar and 47.2 degrees Celsius in Pilani. A red alert of heat wave has been issued in Rajasthan on Thursday.

Terrible heat waves dominated several cities of the state on Wednesday. The heat waves also hit the state's capital Jaipur at night. A warning for severe heat waves has been sounded on Thursday in 13 cities of the state, of which a red alert has been sounded in 3 cities and the Meteorological Department has warned about the heat shattering all the season's records in the next 48 hours.
The hottest cities over the last 24 hours were Ganganagar and Pilani. The temperature touched a maximum of 47.6 degrees and 47.2 degrees Celsius in Ganganagar and Pilani respectively. The temperature touched a high of over 45 degrees in a total of 8 cities and included Jaipur as well, whose temperature touched 44.8 degrees. The weather department has issued a warning stating that the mercury will keep on rising in Jaipur over the next 2 days. The next 4-5 days will see severe heat waves in west Rajasthan.
The mercury has reached more than 30 degrees in many districts even at night. The highest minimum temperature was recorded at 32 degrees in Jaipur and 31.4 degrees Celsius in Kota. The maximum temperature of the state in the last 24 hours was as follows. The maximum temperature was recorded at 43.2 degrees in Ajmer, 43.5 in Bhilwara, 45 in Alwar, 44.8 in Jaipur, 47.2 in Pilani, 44 in Kota, 44.9 in Barmer, 45.4 in Jaisalmer, 43.3 in Jodhpur, 46.8 in Churu, 46.3 in Bikaner and 47.6 degrees in Ganganagar.
