Maruti Suzuki has launched the Jimny SUV with ADAS function in the Australian market. The carmaker has launched the 5-door model of the Jimny for AUD 34,990 (approximately Rs 18.60 lakh). Jimny, launched in Australia, is being imported from India.
This SUV was launched in India in June this year for Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier this month, the company introduced Jimny in Thunder Edition for Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV competes with Mahindra Thar in India as well as in the Australian market.

Australia is the second major foreign market after South Africa, where Maruti Suzuki has launched the five-door Jimny SUV. While, South Africa got an India-spec version of the Jimny, offered in three variants Zeta, Alpha and Alpha AT with similar features, Australia added a five-door Jimny to the existing three-door versions called Jimny Lite and Jimny. Is. The price of the top-end variant XL, which is a five-door version, goes up to AUD 36,490 (approximately converted to Rs 19.97 lakh).
The biggest difference between the Jimny SUV sold in India, South Africa and Australia is that the Australian model comes with additional features like ADAS. The advanced driver assistance system comes with auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, anti-collision warning and dual camera brake support among other features. It comes with 7 exterior colour options.
Under the hood, Maruti Suzuki offers the Jimny XL in Australia with its 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. All variants are offered with Suzuki's four-wheel drive system AllGrip Pro as standard. The engine produces 100 bhp power and 130 Nm peak torque.
