Pak-Myanmar: Myanmar angry with Pakistan over fighter jets, supplied JF-17 fighter jets turned out to be junk
Pakistan-Myanmar Defense Deal: There is resentment going on between Myanmar and Pakistan. The reason behind the resentment is being said to be the defense deal between the two countries. Under this deal, Pakistan provided several fighter aircraft named JF-17 Thunder to Myanmar. Pakistan delivered all the fighter aircraft contracted between 2019 and 2021 to Myanmar, which are now being described as junk.
A defense deal was signed between Pakistan and Myanmar in the year 2019. In this deal, there was an agreement to provide fighter aircraft named JF-17 Thunder to Pakistan and Myanmar. Under this deal, Pakistan supplied several JF-17 Thunder fighter jets to Myanmar between 2019 and 2021.
When Myanmar used all the aircraft supplied by Pakistan, all the fighter jets were declared "unfit for operation". Because of this, Myanmar is now angry with Pakistan. Now Myanmar has sent a "strong message" to Islamabad for the faults found in all the fighter jets. Myanmar's local news agency Narinjara News has given this information by quoting sources.
The planes delivered to Myanmar were part of a deal the Burmese military regime signed in 2016 to buy JF-17s jointly built by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and China's Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation. The Burmese Air Force was forced to stop the use of the aircraft soon after the aircraft were delivered to Myanmar after defects and structural defects were discovered.
