Government's show cause notice to Mayor Soumya; High Court has cancelled the dismissal order
Government's show cause notice to Mayor Soumya: High Court had cancelled the dismissal order and sought a reply till 18
The state government today issued a show cause notice to the Mayor of Municipal Corporation Greater, Soumya Gurjar. The government has given Soumya till November 18 to file her reply. After this notice of the government, it was decided that the government would no longer challenge the decision of the single bench of the High Court in the double bench.
Under the notice issued by the Directorate of Autonomous Government (DLB), Soumya Gurjar will have to present her case before DLB Director Hrdesh Kumar. According to experts, after presenting her side on behalf of Soumya, the government will issue a reasonable order to her on the basis of the argument.
After the order of the High Court came on Thursday, today DLB took legal opinion on the orders. It suggested compliance with the orders of the court. After this, DLB prepared a proposal to issue a show cause notice and sent it to UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal, after which today the minister approved the proposal and issued the notice.
The Rajasthan High Court on November 10, after hearing the petition issued by Soumya Gurjar, had quashed the order of the state government, in which Soumya was dismissed from the post of Mayor and Councilor. After this order of the court, the State Election Commission stopped the process of by-election of the mayor.
According to experts, the government has issued a notice to Soumya and given her an opportunity to be heard to present her side regarding the judicial inquiry. According to Ashok Singh, former Law Director of the Directorate of Autonomous Government, if the government does not find Soumya's explanation logical, then the government can sack her again. Along with this, its compliance report can be presented in court. Apart from this, the government has another option to drag ahead in the matter. If the government finds the answer logical, then the government can also acquit Soumya.
