Huawei Pura X Max Launching April 20, Design and Features Teased
Huawei is launching its foldable smartphone, the Pura X Max, later this month. Ahead of the launch, the company has released key specifications and design details online.
The Huawei PuraXMax, which will have a book-like, widefold design, will be unveiled alongside the Huawei Pura 90 and Huawei Pura 90 ProMax models, all launching simultaneously on April 20th. Prior to the official unveiling, Huawei is dropping hints on social media by showcasing the slimmest folding phones and horizontal pill-shaped cameras at the rear.
Speculations about Apple's foldable iPhone are already surfacing, while Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 is set to launch in July. The early release of Huawei's foldable phone may help it secure an edge in the competitive market for foldable smartphones.
In terms of design, the Pura X Max comes in a form factor that is between a regular flip-phone and a book-foldable smartphone. It's expected to offer a more natural experience for landscape-oriented tasks like video streaming, gaming, and multitasking. The smartphone features a triple camera setup on the back, and its rear panel is inspired by last year's Pura X, featuring a textured design. Both the inner and outer screens feature a punch-hole camera, and its frame is completely flat. Preliminary images also suggest that the display will have minimal creases, though full details will be revealed at launch.
