Government's appeal- Celebrate Cow Hug Day on February 14

The Animal Welfare Board of India has appealed to celebrate Cow Hug Day on 14 February. In the appeal letter issued on February 6, the board wrote that we all know that cow is the backbone of Indian culture, our life and the rural economy. We call cow Kamdhenu and Gaumata because of her motherly behaviour.
Vedic traditions are almost on the verge of extinction due to western culture and glare. Seeing the benefits of a cow, and hugging it will bring happiness. Indian culture will be promoted and positivity will come to life.
It is written at the end of the appeal letter that it has been issued only after the approval of the competent authority and the instructions of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is an organization of the Government of India. Which was established under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (PCA Act). It tells the central and state government what is the welfare of the animals. Also, this board deals with matters related to the PCA ACT and the rules made under this Act.
