A passenger bus and a fuel tanker collided on Tuesday in Multan, Pakistan. 20 people have been confirmed dead. The death toll could be much higher as the condition of many of the injured is said to be critical. Multan is 350 km from Lahore, the largest city in the Punjab province. According to the police, it was raining heavily in the area at the time of the incident and the speed of the bus was very high due to which the accident happened.
The rescue team said – After the collision both the bus and the tanker caught fire. Passengers were burnt alive. It is becoming difficult to identify dead bodies. The bodies will be handed over to the family members after the DNA test. The rescue and fire team faced a lot of difficulties in the rescue. The injured have been admitted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan. His condition is serious.
Punjab province Chief Minister Pervez Elahi condoled the deaths. Ordered to give better treatment to the injured and to identify the dead bodies from the administration and hand them over to their families. Also asked the families of those who died to help.
On August 13, a truck and a passenger bus collided in Punjab province, killing 13 people. The rest are injured. There were 18 people on the bus. The driver of the truck had fled from the spot. It was raining heavily in the area when the incident happened.
