Foldable iPad will get 18.8-inch screen may be launched before foldable iPhone

If you are expecting a foldable iPhone, there is no good news for you. We are mentioning it because your wait is set to get even more prolonged. Apple is working on a first-ever foldable iPad and recently a tipster posted news about its display.

According to reports, the foldable phone will come with an 18.8-inch display and will support under-display Face ID. This will be different from Apple's current iPhones, where the dynamic island is where the camera and other sensors that are utilized by Face ID are located. Apple's new foldable iPad Pro will come with an 18.8-inch display, as reported by a tipper named "Digital Chat Station" on social media website Weibo. The display will be larger than Apple's current MacBook variants.

According to reports, Apple will use "metal superstructure lens" technology in this device, allowing the biometric sensor for Face ID to be integrated under the screen, although it is not yet clear whether it will have a regular front camera or use under-display camera technology.

Reports of a foldable iPad Pro have surfaced before, but some reports believe that Apple is also working on a foldable MacBook with the same screen size. TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in 2024 that Apple could also work on a foldable MacBook with an 18.8-inch or 20.25-inch OLED display. According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Apple may choose the 18.8-inch model due to its lower production costs.
