Recently, there was an escalation of the controversy between Trump and Musk when Trump signaled that if he were to return as president, he would be able to end the government subsidies and tax breaks awarded to Musk's businesses. Late Wednesday night, Tesla reported that the company's revenue fell by 12% and profit by 16% in the April-June quarter. Regarding this, Elon Musk warned that the coming few quarters could be difficult. The recently passed Trump budget bill may end the $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit given to Tesla. Also, the company will get less income from regulatory credits sold to other auto manufacturers.
