He also said in 2021 that he wants to play his last T20 in Chennai. According to a CSK official, "This will be MS's last season as a player. That is what we know, but obviously, it is his decision."

Under the captaincy of Dhoni, CSK won 4 IPLs and 2 Champions League. The win percentage is 59.60. He is the only captain to win 100+ matches in IPL. The team has won 121 out of 204 matches. After Dhoni's departure, England's Ben Stokes, India's Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad are involved in the captaincy race. The team would not want to go back with Jadeja. The team can look at Ruturaj as the future captain. Rahane has experience in captaincy. Stokes has a lot of experience. He knows the qualities of leadership, so his claim is also strong.
