A cold wave has already begun in Rajasthan. Under the influence of blowing cold winds from the north, the temperature has started falling sharply. The minimum temperature of the state declined by 1 to 3 degrees on Sunday. The cities where the minimum temperature fell below single digits include Sikar, Alwar, Churu, Ganganagar, and Lunkaransar. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the first week of December will see the continuation of dry weather in the state and a sharp fall in minimum temperatures. The cold wave will be severe in Shekhawati. A yellow alert has been issued for the cold wave that would commence in some districts, including Shekhawati, from December 3 onwards. A layer of light fog smothered several cities in the last 24 hours, thereby making the sunlight dull and giving a chill during the day as well.

On Sunday, Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 30.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Jodhpur at 29.4 degrees Celsius, Phalodi at 27.2 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer at 26.9 degrees Celsius, Jaipur at 26 degrees Celsius, and Ajmer at 25.7 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures were below normal in several districts, including Sriganganagar, Sikar, Bhilwara, Kota, and Alwar.

Lunkaransar was the coldest area, recording a minimum temperature of around 5 degrees Celsius. Sikar saw a 2.5-degree drop to 9 degrees Celsius, Pilani at 8.5 degrees Celsius, Alwar at 9.5 degrees Celsius, and Sriganganagar at 7.3 degrees Celsius. Bikaner also saw a 3.5-degree drop to 10.8 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, an active western disturbance will remain in effect in North India until December 2-3, after which the impact of icy winds blowing from the Himalayas will increase. This will intensify the cold in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, and a cold wave will begin in many areas. A yellow cold wave alert has been issued for Jhunjhunu and Sikar on December 3 and 4.
