Strong demand in the used car market this festive season, 87 percent people showed interest in petrol cars

The auto sector has crossed the mark of 1 million (10 lakh) units in this festive season. Sales of used cars also witnessed an increase during this period. According to data shared by Cars24, used car sales across India have increased by 88% compared to last year.

The share of hatchbacks in total sales in the used car market was 65%. Models like Swift, Baleno, Grand i10, Alto, and Kwid were popular among first-time car buyers, with Maruti Suzuki being the preferred brand. Apart from this, people have also inclined towards SUV cars. Models like Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Ertiga, Creta, and Nexon have seen high demand.
