These days, many incidents of train accidents and malfunctioning are coming to the fore in the country. On September 8, two rail accidents have also been reported. Another incident happened on Monday, September 9, where, due to a technical fault, the Vande Bharat Express going from Delhi to Banaras stopped midway in Etawah. This train stood for more than 5 hours. Geeta Shakya, the BJP MP in Rajya Sabha, was a co-passenger in this train. The other trains sent them to Kanpur and other stations when the passengers created a ruckus. Sent another engine and Vande Bharat standing on Bharthana station's loop line back to Delhi.

According to Amar Ujala, the Vande Bharat Express suddenly stopped between railway stations Bharthana and Samho on the Delhi-Howrah railway route in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. The incident made the railway administration restless. A sudden technical fault in the engine was the reason for the stopping of the train in the middle. Just as the officials got the information about the train stopping in the middle of the way, the technical officers of the railways reached the spot. But they, too, could not mend the technical fault in the train.

Sending an engine brought the train back to Bharthana station. The stalled Vande Bharat train was brought on the loop line by putting the engine of a goods train parked at Sarai Bhupati station on it, thereby clearing the main line. After this, the main line started coming into operation at around 12 o'clock. Meanwhile, the troubled passengers started creating a ruckus. Railways sent the passengers to Kanpur by New Delhi-Ayodhya Vande Bharat and New Delhi Shatabdi. The passengers would be subsequently being taken to Banaras through another train. The number of passengers travelling in this train was around 750 in number.

Railway officials of Prayagraj division of North Central Railway said that on Monday morning, there was a technical fault in the engine of train number 22436 New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express. After this, an engine was sent there. With its help, the Vande Bharat train was brought to Bharthana station. The passengers were first sent to Kanpur through different trains. A special train was arranged at around 2:45 pm to send the passengers from Kanpur to Varanasi. This train has left for Varanasi with the passengers of Vande Bharat.
