A major accident took place in Borivali West of Mumbai on Friday. A four-storey building collapsed in Saibaba Nagar. After the information, the team of the fire brigade and police reached the spot. Information about 14 to 15 people being trapped in the debris is coming to the fore. The rescue operation is on.
According to the information, this accident happened around 12:30 pm, when people were passing around this building. Then it collapsed and fell. The name of the building is Geetanjali. Eight fire brigade vehicles, two rescue vans and three ambulances are present at the spot. The team is engaged in relief and rescue work.
Officials said that this building is 40 years old. BMC had declared it dilapidated. After this, the building was also evacuated.
Earlier on August 15, part of the roof of a house collapsed in the Mulund area of ​​Mumbai. Due to this, two people died after getting trapped under the rubble. The building was around 20-25 years old and the BMC had issued a notice regarding it.
Two months ago, 19 people were killed and 15 were injured when a four-storey building collapsed in Naik Nagar, Kurla East, Mumbai. The building was earlier declared 'dilapidated' but was later declared 'repairable'. According to the Mumbai Police, people were living in it even after the notice.
