Two suspected ISIS terrorists arrested in Kolkata

Kolkata Police's Special Task Force has arrested two suspected terrorists from the Tikiapara area of Howrah. They are suspected to be associated with the terrorist organization ISIS. A senior police officer said on Saturday that the arrest was made on the basis of information received from the Central Investigation Agency. He said that one of the arrested terrorists is an MTech engineer.
Police had received information that both of them were promoting anti-national activities and radicalization on social media. Their aim is to brainwash people to attract them towards Jihadi activities. They used to show explosions and killings to incite anti-national sentiments among the youth.
Both these accused, who were caught by the police, were in contact with ISIS functionaries in Pakistan and West Asia. A team of STF nabbed both of them on Friday night from their hideout at Aftabuddin Munshi Lane, Tikiapara. The names of the arrested terrorists are Mohammad Saddam (28) and Syed Ahmed (30). Saddam is well educated. A laptop and 2 mobile phones have been recovered from them. The agency has released their photos, but both are suspected terrorists, so their faces are not clear.
Police said- both were engaged in spreading the network of the terrorist organization ISIS in Howrah. We are questioning him to know more about his role. It seems many youths have fallen into their trap. During the arrest, several documents were seized from both of them.
The STF of City Police suspects that some big brain is behind these two, who is connected to handlers operating in Pakistan or West Asia. On being produced in a local court, both were sent to police custody till January 19.
Early STF also learned that they had planned a secret meeting at Khidirpur. After his arrest, his house was searched. Debit cards and electronic evidence were recovered from the accused. According to sources, Jihadi material has also been found on his laptop. It is also learned that the accused were also making a stockpile of weapons. Apart from this, he also used to do work collecting money. All the cases are under investigation.
