Vivo Y500 Coming Soon: IP69+ Dust & Water Resistance, 62,000 Drop Tests Passed
Vivo has confirmed the launch of its new smartphone Vivo Y500 in China next month. This will be the latest phone in the Y-series in which Vivo Y400 and Y300 have already arrived. The biggest feature of the phone is the 8200mAh battery IP69+ rating and strong durability test. The company has also shared its color options and battery performance details.



Vivo Y500 will be launched in China next month, the company has confirmed via Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform. This phone will join the company's Y-series, which also includes Vivo Y400 and Y300. The Y300 was released in 2024, while the Y400 came earlier this year. Besides the launch date, the company has shared some specifications and images of the phone. It features a circular rear camera module.
In a Weibo post, the Chinese smartphone maker confirmed that the Vivo Y500 will launch in China on September 1. The company also announced that the phone will have a large 8,200mAh battery. The device will come with an 'IP69+' rating, providing dust and water resistance.
The Vivo Y500 has also received the SGS Gold Label five-star drop and impact resistance certification. The company states that the phone has undergone 'military standard environmental testing.'
Furthermore, the company claims that the phone's 8,200mAh battery can deliver 16.7 hours of video playback in low temperatures of up to -20 degrees Celsius and 17 hours of navigation in hot temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius. Vivo also showed that the phone still had 37 percent battery remaining after 18 hours of use.
