After the ODI World Cup, Axar's performance in the five-match T20 series against Australia has been excellent. He was also the player of the series.

Rohit further said, 'Akshar is bowling well in IPL also. All these things forced us to choose him. If we have to send a left-handed batsman in the middle order, we can also use Akshar. Akshar also has a lot of experience, he has been playing for Team India for a long time.
