The second match of the five-match T20 series being played between India and Australia was played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In this match, India once again performed brilliantly and defeated Australia by a huge margin of 44 runs. With this victory, India is ahead 2-0 in the series.

Batting first, India had set a huge target of 236 runs for Australia. In reply, Australia could score only 191 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Australia, captain Matthew Wade scored an unbeaten 42 off 23 balls with the help of four sixes and one four, and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis scored 45 runs off 25 balls with the help of four sixes and two fours.

Apart from these two, Maxwell scored 12 runs, Tim David scored 37 runs, and Steve Smith and Matthew Shorts scored 19 runs each. Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets each for India. Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Mukesh Kumar got one wicket each.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, India scored 235 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal played an inning of 53 runs in 25 balls with the help of 9 fours and two sixes. Whereas Ishan Kishan scored 52 runs in 32 balls with the help of four sixes and three fours. This is his second consecutive half-century in T20. Apart from these two, Gaikwad scored 58 runs in 43 balls with the help of two sixes and three fours.

Rinku Singh once again batted brilliantly and finished the innings. He scored unbeaten 31 runs in just 9 balls with the help of two sixes and four fours. For Australia, Nathan Ellis took three wickets for 45 runs in four overs. Apart from him, Marcus Stoinis got one wicket.
