Starlink Internet will start in India very soon, INSPACe has approved the launch
Satellite Internet: INSPACe, the space regulatory body of the Government of India, has approved Elon Musk's company Starlink to start satellite-based internet services in the country. This license will be valid for 5 years.
Starlink, a satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk, is set to arrive in India shortly. Starlink Satellite Communications has been given the nod by INSPACe, the Indian space sector monitoring and promotion organization, is to offer internet services in India via the Starlink Gen1 Constellation.
According to the information shared on the INSPACe website, this authorized license will be valid for five years. This means that the possibility of high-speed internet connectivity reaching even the remote areas of India in the coming years has increased.
Starlink has been trying to start its service in the Indian market for the last few years. The company was planning to start commercial operations in India from 2022, but was waiting for regulatory clearance.
Starlink is a project of Elon Musk's company SpaceX, which is working on providing high-speed broadband internet service via satellite across the world. Now, after getting official approval in India, it can become a major means of providing internet in rural and remote areas.
