The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that the matches that were to take place on December 30, which were canceled after the death of the ex-Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, will go ahead on ‘January 4, 2026, at the same venue but will take place at the same venue, which is Sylhet. Additionally, the T20 series will reportedly be held at two other venues. According to a high-ranking representative of the BCB, the T20 tournament will go ahead at ‘Sylhet and Dhaka’. The decision has been made to eliminate the matches that were to take place at ‘Chattogram’. The whole program has been modified as the tournament has been suspended owing to the death of the ex-Prime Minister.

According to the initial schedule, the Sylhet leg was scheduled to end on January 3, after which the tournament was to be shifted to Chattogram. However, due to the tournament being halted after the death of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the BCB has had to change the schedule.

Iftekhar Rahman, Member Secretary of the BPL Governing Council, said, "We have a two-day gap, and to accommodate those two days, we have decided to hold the league at only two venues. Therefore, we apologize to the fans in Chattogram. However, due to the current circumstances, we will have to cancel the matches in Chattogram. This will save us two days of travel."
