The Indian team's coaching team has been changed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a major move during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The board has sacked three significant members, assistant coach Abhishek Nair, fielding coach T. Dilip, and strength and conditioning trainer Soham Desai, from their respective positions with effect from immediately.
According to a report in the Indian Express, by removing the coaching staff and many more members, the BCCI has given a strict warning that the performance of the Indian team in Tests cannot be ignored. With these changes, the board has started preparations for the upcoming England tour, which is to take place in June. A new massage therapist has also been included in the team for this tour.
Abhishek Nair joined the team last year as an assistant coach with head coach Gautam Gambhir. At the same time, T. Dilip was working with the team as a fielding coach for a long time, and his tenure was to end in March this year. South Africa's Adrian Le Roo has now been appointed in place of strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai. It is worth noting that Le Roo has previously worked in the same role with the Indian team in the year 2000, when the captain of the team was Sourav Ganguly and the coach was John Wright. After this,s he joined the South African team and has also been associated with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and currently Punjab Kings (PBKS).
