Pulkit Arya, son of BJP leader and former state minister Vinod Arya, has been arrested by the police in the 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari murder case in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. Along with Pulkit, his two other associates Ankit alias Pulkit Gupta and Saurabh Bhaskar have also been arrested.
It is alleged that Ankita was killed by the three accused by pushing her down the hill into the Ganges. Ankita was a receptionist at a private resort in the Yamkeshwar area of ​​Pauri Garhwal district. This resort belongs to Pulkit Arya. The police have sealed the resort. Here, the women stopped the police van and beat up the accused. The locals also ransacked Pulkit Arya's resort.
According to media reports, 19-year-old Ankita was missing from 18-19 September. On the morning of 19 September, Ankita did not show up in her room. Her father reached the resort and questioned the staff. A missing report was filed after the daughter could not be traced. A campaign was going on on social media to search for the missing.
DGP Ashok Kumar said- A missing complaint was registered with the Revenue Police, which was transferred to the Regular Police the previous day itself. In 24 hours, three accused, including the main accused Pulkit Arya, were arrested by the Laxman Jhula police.
During interrogation, Pulkit Arya told the police that receptionist Ankita Bhandari lived in a separate room at the resort. For some days she was going through mental stress. Due to this, on September 18, he was taken to Rishikesh for a tour. He further told that late in the night everyone returned from there.
After this, everyone went to sleep in different rooms built in the resort. But, on the morning of September 19, Ankita was missing from her room. A police investigation found this story to be false.
The police first questioned the staff of the resort. He told that Ankita was with these people while going to Rishikesh, but did not return. At the same time, while going to Rishikesh, the police also checked the CCTVs on the way. It was seen that there were four people leaving, but there were three people coming from there. After this, the police strictly interrogated the three.
According to media reports, the accused told the police that all three of them came to the barrage with Ankita. Everyone drank wine here. After this Ankita starts threatening that she will tell everyone that Pulkit pressurizes her to have physical relations with the customers of the resort.
Meanwhile, Ankita threw Pulkit's mobile and a fight started between the two. After this, all three angrily push Ankita into the Ganges and all three return to the resort.
Here, enraged by Ankita's murder, the women stopped the police van and beat up the three accused. According to the reports, when the police were taking the accused to Kotdwar to present them in court. Meanwhile, hundreds of villagers stopped the police vehicle in Kodiya ahead of the barrage bridge and beat up all three.
However, he was rescued from the mob after the intervention of the police. After this, they were produced in the court, where all three have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Sections of murder and concealment of evidence have been increased against the accused.
