Rajasthan to Welcome New Year 2026 with Rain, Dense Fog and Severe Cold

The New Year 2026 in Rajasthan is expected to begin with rain and severe cold.  A rain warning has been given for the entire state by the Meteorological Department for December 31st and January 1st. The Meteorological Department further said that light rain is expected in certain areas of Bikaner and Shekhawati divisioms, which will further strengthen the effect of cold weather. Currently, the effect of the cold wave is being felt in the state. The minimum temperatures were recorded in single digits in almost all districts except Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Phalodi on Sunday. Fatehpur in Sikar is the coldest place in the state.

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for 12 districts on January 1st. The effect of severe fog is being witnessed in the northern and eastern parts of the state. Many road accidents have taken place because of this. The Meteorological Department is also urging drivers to exercise caution.

On Saturday, parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Ajmer divisions were lightly overcast. Six cities, including Jaipur, Dausa, Udaipur, and Karauli, recorded the season's lowest temperatures. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold weather will persist on Monday and Tuesday.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, stated that due to the activation of a strong western disturbance, cloud cover is expected in Bikaner division and some districts of the Shekhawati region on December 31st and January 1st. Light rain or drizzle is expected at some places during this period. On December 31st, Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar are expected to remain cloudy, while on January 1st, the weather will remain variable in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Alwar.
