There is considerable relief for millions of farmers in Rajasthan. The government procurement process for wheat has officially begun today, February 1st, under the Rabi Marketing Season 2026-27. The Government of India has fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat this year at ₹2,585 per quintal to ensure that the farmers are paid a better price for the crop they sell. The state government has introduced an online registration system to make the procurement process transparent and easy for the farmers, so they don’t face any difficulties.

According to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, farmers will be able to register online for wheat sales from February 1 to June 25, 2026. A "Farmer Registration Portal for Wheat Procurement" has been launched for this purpose. Farmers can register themselves from home using their mobile phone or computer, or seek assistance from the nearest e-Mitra center. An updated Jan Aadhaar card is mandatory for registration.

The government has also fully digitalized the payment process. The payment for the money paid to the farmers for the sale of wheat will be directly transferred to the bank account associated with Jan Aadhaar. In this way, the intervention of middlemen will not be required. The department has advised farmers to link their bank accounts with Jan Aadhaar in time.

Wheat procurement in the state will be conducted from March 10 to June 30, 2026. For this purpose, 383 procurement centers have been established across the state. Procurement will be done at these centers through the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Rajfed, Tilam Sangh, NAFED, NCCF, and, starting this year, the Rajasthan State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation. Instructions have been given to ensure smooth arrangements at all centers.

Registration, procurement dates, and other information will also be sent to farmers via SMS. For any questions or queries, a toll-free helpline number, 14435, has been issued. The government's goal is to ensure that every farmer receives a fair price for their produce in a timely manner and that the procurement process remains completely transparent.
