Kota and Baran experienced freezing cold even during the day on Sunday. The maximum daytime temperature in both cities remained below 14 degrees Celsius. According to weather experts, severe cold is expected to persist in the state for the next week, while the districts of the Jaipur division will be affected by a cold wave for the next four days.

Sikar, Fatehpur, Pilani, and Jhunjhunu recorded a sharp drop in temperatures on Sunday. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur (Sikar) reached freezing point, causing dewdrops to freeze in the fields and creating frost. Dense fog enveloped most districts in Kota, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions over the past 24 hours. The sun did not shine throughout the day in Kota division on Sunday, resulting in maximum temperatures of 13.3 and 13.6 degrees Celsius in Kota and Baran, respectively.
Cold-day conditions prevailed in Kota, Sikar, Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Baran, and Pali on Sunday. Day and night temperatures in these cities were recorded three degrees or more below normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 18.5 degrees Celsius in Jaipur and Sikar, 18.3 in Pilani, 17.6 in Vanasthali (Tonk) and 15.7 degrees Celsius in the Jawai Dam area of Pali.
The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, issued a yellow alert for dense fog on Monday for the following districts: Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Alwar, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa, Karauli, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Kota, Baran, and Jhalawar. A yellow alert for cold wave has been issued in Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Jaipur and Tonk. On January 6, a yellow alert for fog has been issued in Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Kota, Baran and Jhalawar, while a yellow alert for cold wave has been issued in Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar and Jaipur. Cold wave is likely to continue in Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar and Jaipur on January 7 and 8 also.
