After the irregularities came to light in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), the state government has begun acting against hospitals. Due to the Special Artificial Intelligence (AI) cell of the Finance Department, the scams under the plan have been exposed in numerous hospitals of the state over the last two months. According to sources of the department, more than two dozen of hospitals have been excluded under the plan, and action of suspension has been initiated against some of them.

During the probe of the department, cases of acceptance of crores of rupees through bogus claims came to light in numerous allopathy and AYUSH hospitals. FIR has been registered with the police also in some cases. Fake treatment at allopathy hospitals, administering Panchkarma therapy to the same patient multiple times, receipt of money through bogus bills at medicine shops, all this has been revealed through the probe of the department at some AYUSH hospitals.

According to sources, the state government has started working towards making this scheme more effective and reducing the chances of fraud to zero. Apart from including biometric verification, instructions have been given to check the name of the beneficiary, the signature of the doctor and the RMC number on the outdoor slip.
