Rajasthan Braces for Heavy Rain as Twin Cyclonic Systems Intensify Over Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal
Rajasthan Rain Alert: A new weather system has become active in Rajasthan today. A rain alert has been issued for 17 districts, and a heavy rainfall warning for 6 districts.
The climatic conditions in Rajasthan have been altered by the effect of an active cyclonic system over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The maximum effect will be experienced on Monday and Tuesday, as per the Meteorological Department, with heavy to very heavy rain in most places. The Meteorological Department has put out an orange alert for 6 districts falling under the Udaipur and Kota divisions and a yellow alert for 17 districts.
Radheshyam Sharma, Director of Jaipur Meteorological Center, said the depression system that developed in the southeast Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a deep depression and will develop into a cyclone today. This cyclone will strike the Andhra Pradesh coastal belt on October 28. Additionally, a depression system is active in the central-eastern Arabian Sea. These two systems have increased the supply of moisture to several Indian states, and the effects are reaching Rajasthan. Experts predict that the rain will continue in the state until October 30th.
Due to the system's influence, several districts in Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer divisions, and some parts of Jodhpur division, remained cloudy over the past 24 hours, and light to moderate rain was recorded. Manohar Thana in Jhalawar received 16 mm of rain, Raipur received 1 mm of rain, while some areas in Udaipur district received light drizzle. Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Kota, Udaipur, Pratapgarh, and Salumbhar are currently under a very heavy rainfall warning today.
The Jaipur Meteorological Center issued this alert at 6:30 am today. It has predicted light to moderate rain/lightning/strong surface wind (maximum wind speed 20-30 kmph) with thundershowers at isolated places in Kota, Bundi, Bhilwara, Tonk, Baran, Ajmer, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Jalore, Dausa, Jaipur, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Pali, Sirohi districts and adjoining areas.

The change in weather also affected temperatures. Due to cloud cover and less sunshine on Sunday, maximum temperatures dropped in most cities of Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions. Maximum temperatures remained below 30°C in Baran, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, and Bhilwara. The lowest maximum temperature was recorded at 27.7°C in Dungarpur.
