Rain Alert in Rajasthan as Arabian Sea Depression Strengthens, Bay of Bengal System Active
Rajasthan Weather: A depression in the Arabian Sea will alter the weather in Rajasthan from October 26th. Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are possible in the Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions. A yellow alert has been issued for nine districts; northerly winds will cause temperatures to drop and cold weather will increase.
A depression system over the Arabian Sea is changing the weather pattern of Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain with heavy rain at a few places is likely in Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer divisions from today onwards, states the Meteorological Department. Strong wind and lightning are also likely. Jaipur Meteorological Center has also raised a yellow rain warning for Kota and Baran at 6:30 am. Nine districts have been issued a yellow rain warning today, including Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, and Udaipur.
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the depression system formed in the Arabian Sea is steadily strengthening. Additionally, another depression system is active in the Bay of Bengal, which could intensify into a cyclone or severe cyclone in the coming days. A Western Disturbance will also become active in North India from October 27th. The combined effect of these three systems will cause significant changes in the weather in Rajasthan starting today. Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning is likely in Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions.
Weather experts said that northern winds will begin to intensify today, affecting districts in the Bikaner and Jaipur divisions. These winds will cause temperatures to drop and the cold to intensify in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Nagaur, and Alwar.
In the past 24 hours, mild cold winds blew in the morning and evening, while bright sunshine emerged during the day. Sikar was the coldest place in the state, with a minimum temperature of 13°C. Dausa recorded a minimum temperature of 14.1°C, while Barmer experienced the hottest day, with a maximum temperature of 37.1°C.
