Punjab Kings all-rounder Liam Livingstone returned to England on Monday to recover from a knee injury ahead of next month's T20 World Cup. The Punjab Kings team is already out of the race for IPL playoffs with only four wins in 12 matches.

Livingstone announced on Instagram that the IPL will not be continuing for another year and that, in order to play in the next World Cup, he will need to have his knee repaired. Once again, I want to thank the supporters of the Punjab Kings for their love and support. As usual, I had a great time playing in the IPL, despite the team's and my own disappointing season.

Defending champions England will travel to the West Indies for the ICC T20 World Cup following their series against Pakistan. On June 4 in Bridgetown, Barbados, they will open play against Scotland. In seven matches during the current IPL season, Livingstone managed just 111 runs and three wickets.
