India's favorite entertainment destination, Prime Video, has revealed the powerful trailer of the original crime series "Poacher." Produced by Emmy Award winner Richa Mehta, who has crafted hit films like Jordan Peele's 'Get Out' and Spike Lee's 'BlacKkKlansman,' the upcoming series features Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in lead roles. Oscar-winning production and finance company Qusai Entertainment has produced "Poacher," with actress and producer Alia Bhatt serving as the executive producer of the series.
Based on true events, this eight-part crime drama unveils the exposé of a gang involved in the illegal hunting of India's largest elephant tusks. Premiering on Prime Video on February 23, the series is primarily in Malayalam, Hindi, and English, catering to audiences in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. It will be available in English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, with subtitles in over 35 languages.
The trailer offers a chilling glimpse into the heart-wrenching reality of merciless killings of elephants. It follows a diverse group of wildlife conservationists, including wildlife crime fighters, police officers, and philanthropists, on their relentless quest to expose the group responsible for the illegal hunting of the largest elephant tusks in Indian history. The series raises questions about whether the silent victims – helpless elephants – will receive the justice they rightfully deserve.
Commenting on the series, Manish Mehrotra, Director of Content Licensing, Prime Video India, said, "As a global entertainment hub, Prime Video has the incredible privilege of showcasing not only the best stories within the country but also offering them to audiences worldwide.
