Politician Gulab Chand Kataria Appointed Governor of Assam
Gulab Chand Kataria, a veteran politician from the Mewar-Wangad region of India, has been appointed as the governor of Assam. With a political career spanning 46 years, Kataria has served as an eight-time member of the legislative assembly and as the leader of the opposition. He first entered the state assembly in 1977 as a member of the Janta Party (JP) and went on to hold the position of home minister twice in Vasundhara Raje's government.
