PM Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi passes away
On Friday, Heeraben Modi, mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, passed away at an Ahmedabad hospital.
Heeraben has gone suddenly, according to a statement released by the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, where she was checked out on Wednesday due to health issues
The medical bulletin stated that "Hiraben Modi passed away on December 30, 2022 at 3.30 am while receiving treatment at U N Mehta Heart Hospital."
"A glorious century rests at God's feet... The journey of an ascetic, the image of a selfless Karmayogi, and a life dedicated to values—I have always felt that trinity in Maa, the prime minister wrote in a heartfelt tweet.
She told me something that I would always remember when we first met on her 100th birthday. "Kam karo buddhi thi, jivan jivo suddhi thi"
(work using your brain and live life with purity," he tweeted.)
PM Modi arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday afternoon from Delhi and met his mother in the hospital. He had spent more than an hour at the hospital, a government-funded independent medical centre, and had also spoken to some of the doctors there.
