India is on top-3 in startups. Women are also coming forward and taking part in it. Like every field, the participation of women in science has also doubled.
The subject of the program was Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment. It was organized at Tukoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Tukoji Maharaj Nagpur University is celebrating its centenary this year. During this, Maharashtra's Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and several Union ministers were also present.
This event was organized after two years. Earlier in 2020, this event was held in Bengaluru. Due to Kovid-19, it was postponed for two years. This is the first time that PM Modi did not personally participate in the gathering of top scientists from different fields. The first session of the Indian Science Congress was held in 1914. Since then it is organized every year.
Members participating in this event held on Tuesday discussed increasing the participation of women in education, research and industry. Members attending the Science Congress discussed ways to increase women's participation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, as well as ways to increase their equal status in education, research opportunities, and economic partnerships.
