Oxford University Rich Institution But Teacher's Salary Very Low

Oxford University is considered among the richest institutions in the world. He has 64 thousand crores. (6.4 billion pounds) is the donation amount. Oxford received £800 million in research grants in 2020-21, the highest among any British university. But the contract faculty are facing problems like poor service conditions and low pay.
Teachers say that we are not regularised, and business cards are also not given. Teaching contracts can also be cancelled or changed at very short notice. Women teachers do not even get maternity leave on fixed-term contracts and their contract ends, after which there is no guarantee of renewal.
According to UK higher education statistics for 2019-20, one-third of all academic staff are on contract. In Oxford it is two-thirds.
In the condition of the contract, payment is made only according to the hours of teaching, but for one hour of teaching, teachers have to prepare for three to four hours, which is not included in the payment.
He gets £25 for an hour's teaching while he spends four hours including preparation. In this way, their wages are less than the minimum wage of £10.42 an hour. The institute itself also believes that a single undergraduate or postgraduate needs 14600 to 21100 pounds annually to live a normal life.
Last November, 70,000 lecturers from 150 institutions, including Oxford, went on a three-day strike demanding better conditions, the biggest in the history of higher education in the country. The issue of fixed-term contracts was also raised in it.
