OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's big statement, now ChatGPT will remember your 'horoscope'
OpenAI: Sam Altman said, "This feature is amazingly great and it is a step in the direction where the AI system will get to know you well over time and become extremely useful." This feature has started rolling out for ChatGPT Pro users and will soon be available for ChatGPT Plus users as well. After this, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users will also start getting this feature in a few weeks.

Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, made the public announcement on Thursday that the memory function of ChatGPT has been enhanced extensively. ChatGPT will now recall all the past chats with you. ChatGPT will be able to provide more individualized responses with this function in mind keeping your interests and preferences in view. It will make assistance with writing, seeking advice, learning, and many more things more helpful compared to before.

This feature has started rolling out for ChatGPT Pro users and will soon be available for ChatGPT Plus users as well. After this, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users will also start getting this feature in a few weeks.
However, at this time no information has been given on when this feature will be made available to free users. Also, Altman also clarified that this feature will not be rolled out in EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
ChatGPT's memory feature was present earlier as well. It was launched in September 2024 for free, plus, for team and enterprise users. But then it had limitations like it could remember only limited information. Now after the new update, it can remember all your old conversations and the new conversation will be based on that, which will make the conversation experience even more seamless and useful.
"In addition to previously saved memories, it can now also reference your past chats to make your responses more relevant and useful," OpenAI wrote in a post.
You can control memory
- If you don't want ChatGPT to remember your conversations, you can turn it off by going to Settings > Personalization > Memory.
- You can also see what ChatGPT has remembered about you and delete it completely if you want through the "Manage Memory" option.
- You can also use Temporary Chat, where ChatGPT will neither remember anything nor affect your memory.
