One Nation-One Subscription Scheme approved, benefiting 1.5 crore students; Know about this scheme
The central government has given a big gift to the students across the country. On Monday, the Union Cabinet gave the green signal to the One Nation-One Subscription Scheme. The Modi government will spend six thousand crore rupees on this scheme in the coming three years. The new phase of the Atal Innovation Mission has also been approved. Educational institutions will be linked to the One Nation-One Subscription Scheme.
Second has to do with accelerating research and innovation, for which the government has announced two other new initiatives. The first of these is the One Nation-One Subscription Scheme, whereby students and teachers can gain access to research papers and journals from around the world. Due to this, students are not going to wander around in search of research papers and journals coming from around the world, but they will get all these in one place. An expenditure of Rs 6,000 crore will be spent on this scheme in the next three years.
The second big announcement is about starting the new phase of the Atal Innovation Mission. Under this, 30 such new innovation centers will be established, in which there will be no language restriction. That is, any student will be able to work here in the local language as well. Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting held on Monday under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that both these initiatives will help students and youth to move forward rapidly in the field of research and innovation.
He further informed that all higher education institutions and research institutes of the country will be connected with the One Nation-One Subscription Scheme. Under this, they will be provided with all research papers and journals from across the world. Altogether, 30 major international journal publishers are integrated into this. Consequently, approximately 13,000 e-journals of these publishers would be made available to more than 6,300 government higher education institutions and research and development institutes of the central government.
Ashwini Vaishnav also said, "Cabinet has also approved the launch of a new phase of Atal Innovation Mission " A total of 30 new innovation centers will be opened in the country where any student can come, and study innovation in their own local language. The government is all set to spend Rs 2,750 crore on this mission. One thousand new innovation labs have also been proposed for creation in Jammu & Kashmir and the northeastern states. Branding of innovation will also be done under this mission.
