Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan next month: had taken four-week permission for treatment in London

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in January next year. He will return to the country after three years and choose candidates for the 2023 general elections. A senior leader of Nawaz Sharif's party Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) and Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq gave this information during a TV program. Discussions are going on for a long time about Nawaz's return to the country. Last month, some reports claimed that Nawaz would return to the country in December. But it has become clear from Ayaz Sadiq's statement that Nawaz will return to Pakistan only next year.

General elections are due in Pakistan next year. Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan and decide the names of the candidates for the elections. Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been demanding that general elections be held in March. But the ruling PML-N and its allies say that the elections will be held only after the month of August as per the constitution.

In 2019, the Lahore High Court allowed Nawaz to go abroad for four weeks for treatment. Nawaz came to London on November 19, 2019, and since then did not return to the country. In 2018, the court convicted Nawaz in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case and sentenced him to seven years. And in the Avenfield property case, he was sentenced to 11 years and fined Rs 80 crore. On 16 November 2019, the Lahore High Court suspended Nawaz's sentence and allowed him to go abroad for treatment.
