Suspected Al Qaeda terrorist arrested in Bengaluru: Wanted to join ISIS

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a suspected terrorist from Bengaluru. The name of the arrested terrorist is Arif. He used to work as a software engineer in Bangalore itself. Arif was in contact with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda for the last two years. It is being told that he wanted to join ISIS and was in the process of fleeing to Syria via Afghanistan and Iran. According to NIA, Arif is radical. However, has not been involved in any incident so far.
On Saturday, the NIA raided several places in Mumbai and Bengaluru in the case. Which some suspects belonging to the global terrorist organization ISIS and Al-Qaeda were raided. During this, some digital devices and papers were seized by the NIA.
Last month also NIA conducted searches at 6 places in Karnataka. In which 2 people were arrested for conspiring with the Islamic State. The accused were identified as Reshan Thajuddin Shaikh of Varambally, Brahmavar of Udupi and Huzair Farhan Baig of Shivamogga.
Investigation of the case revealed that one Maj Munir had radicalized his close aide and college mate Reshan Thajuddin. Both the accused persons were receiving funds from their ISIS handlers through crypto-wallets.
