Minimum Temperatures Rise by 2-3°C in Rajasthan Amid Western Disturbance

The winter grip in Rajasthan is moderated due to the influence of an active Western Disturbance that is operative over North India. Cloudy conditions in the northwest districts of the state, including Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Churu, Hanumangarh, and Sriganganagar, have caused a rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperatures. This resulted in relief from the cold winds and harsh winter conditions in the morning and evening. As per weather specialists, the weather is likely to remain dry for the next five days in the state, while a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to become active from 18th Dec. During the last 24 hours, light clouding occurred in the Bikaner division, as well as in the areas of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar. Due to cloud cover, cold winds from the north remained weak, reducing the impact of the cold wave.

According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, minimum temperatures increased at many places. Fatehpur, near Sikar, reached 6.5 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures were recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius in Dausa, 6.9 degrees Celsius in Lunkaransar, 7.5 degrees Celsius in Sikar, 7.8 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 7.9 degrees Celsius in Vanasthali (Tonk), 8.8 degrees Celsius in Churu and Bhilwara, 6.8 degrees Celsius in Nagaur, 8.3 degrees Celsius in Baran, 9.9 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, 11.9 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, 10.8 degrees Celsius in Ajmer, 10.9 degrees Celsius in Kota, and 10.3 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur.

Meanwhile, due to cloud cover, daytime temperatures in the Bikaner division experienced a slight drop. Maximum temperatures dropped by about 1 degree Celsius. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 31.4 degrees Celsius in Barmer. Jodhpur recorded a maximum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 30.0 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer 29.9 degrees Celsius, Udaipur and Nagaur 29.1 degrees Celsius, Jalore 29.7 degrees Celsius, Pali 29.4 degrees Celsius, Fatehpur 29.9 degrees Celsius, Ajmer 28.7 degrees Celsius, Bhilwara 28.2 degrees Celsius, Alwar 26.8 degrees Celsius and Jaipur 27.5 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may fluctuate again in the coming days due to clear weather.
