Maruti Suzuki India Limited has updated the Ignis. Along with this, the company has announced to increase in the price of the car by Rs 27,000. The increased rates are applicable from today. Maruti Suzuki had on January 16 increased the prices of all its models by 1.1%.
Along with this, the company has also added safety features in all the variants of the car. All variants of the car will now come with safety features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist. The company has updated the engine of the car as per the Real Driving Emission (RDE) norms. With this, the car will now run on the upcoming E-20 petrol as well.
The ex-showroom price of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis starts from Rs.5.5 lakhs. Whereas its top variant costs Rs 7.9 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis gets a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K-12 BS6 compliant petrol engine. This engine generates maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Maruti Suzuki Ignis comes with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. The car returns a mileage of 20.89 kmpl.
The Ignis also gets a dual-tone black and light beige cabin. It gets a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with SmartPlay Studio 2.0. It also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay infotainment systems. For safety features, the Ignis gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX seats, seat belt pre-tensioner and reversing parking camera with guiding lines.
Global sales of Maruti Suzuki saw a growth of 12% in January 2023 as compared to last year. The company sold 1,72,535 vehicles during this period. At the same time, 14% growth was seen in the company's sales in India. During this, Maruti sold 1,55,142 vehicles in the country. The company reported a 9.7% growth in sales of its compact cars to 95,642 units on a year-on-year (YOY) basis.
